Twenty percent of our store customers have shopped on mobile and most of them have paid with fast online payments. This is very good news, on the one hand, more and more consumers are choosing convenient and fast shopping, on the other hand, stores and payment operators are trying to provide this convenience.

Although global mobile traffic has already surpassed that of desktop, the computer or laptop still remains the main device we use to shop online. An analysis of more than 10,000 e-stores using the Shoper platform shows that mobile devices account for 20 percent of transactions: 17 percent of purchases were made on a phone, 4 percent on a tablet. This is still four times less than desktop orders, but the share of mobile orders is growing every year.

Certainly, the popularization of mobile shopping is influenced by stores and payment operators that design their systems to respond to customers' needs and habits. Thanks to this attitude, the majority of orders from phones - 35 percent. - have been paid for through online payments. However, almost the same proportion - 31 percent. - of mobile purchases was ordered by cash on delivery, and 27 percent were transactions paid by regular bank transfer. These two payment methods may be indicative of the ever-present lack of trust in mobile payments among consumers. Customers prefer to postpone payment and pay the courier or make a transfer from their account themselves, without giving their data to intermediaries.

A global e-commerce leader has moved in the direction of payment convenience and speed. In April this year, Shopify introduced a fast payment method. With Shopify Pay, the buyer's details and payment method are remembered and automatically filled in the next time an order is placed, and to confirm it, all that is needed is to enter a verification code, sent via SMS. The platform reports that stores that have implemented Shopify Pay have seen 40 percent faster payment processing times and up to 18 percent higher conversion rates for returning customers. The U.S.-based platform has shown that e-commerce payment methods are an element that really affects sales.

What products are most often purchased over the phone? As much as 29 percent of all clothing purchases are made and paid for via cell phone. Using mobile payments, we are also eager to buy children's products and accessories and gifts, respectively accounting for 22 percent and 18 percent of purchases. The items we are least likely to buy by mobile are computers (5 percent) and food products (9 percent). There may be various reasons for this, certainly these are not items we buy on the run - we think about equipment and compare offers, similarly with food products.

The largest number of orders paid for by online mobile payment systems was through our platform's own system, Shoper Payments. It mediated 38 percent of all such transactions. Shoper Payments is becoming increasingly popular among our stores. Thanks to this, stores do not need to integrate additional operators, they have all the most important elements of the store within one platform. More than a quarter of orders were finalized by customers on mobile using PayU, 15 percent using Przelewy24. Nine percent of customers used DotPay and almost as many, 8 percent, paid using PayPal.
