Associated mainly with currency operations, bitcoin is also increasingly boldly entering Polish e-commerce. The Shoper platform allows payments with the popular cryptocurrency in e-shops.

The first bitcoin transaction in 2010 allowed a customer to buy two pizzas. Now you can buy luxury mansions, Tesla cars or pay for xbox games. According to the Cambridge/VISA "Global cryptocurrency benchmarking study," between 2.9 and 5.8 million people worldwide use bitcoin, and the ever-growing value of this market is now more than $100 billion. In Poland, too, the virtual form of payment is gaining more and more supporters. Their number is already estimated at tens of thousands of people.

The growing popularity of bitcoin has prompted the Shoper platform to introduce a new payment module. From now on, stores can handle BTC payments through the Bitbe.co app. Almost 100 stores have already decided to download it, and the first transactions have already been recorded.

The landscape of the e-commerce market is constantly changing, so as Shoper we are constantly following global trends. This allows us to offer our customers future-proof solutions that do not require complex integration. Such as the Bitbe.co application," says Krzysztof Helak, Shoper App Store Coordinator. - It's too early to talk about the success of this solution, but one thing is certain - the market is developed by those companies that respond to changes in time, he adds.

Virtual currency gives buyers the ability to pay quickly and securely. Customers can pay for online orders through a wallet installed on their phone or computer. On the other hand, the seller doesn't have to operate with bitcoin, thanks to the app he receives the equivalent of the order in zlotys to his bank account. The store also does not pay a commission. The transaction fee, standard for bitcoin transfers, is paid by the paying party. In the coming months, Shoper plans to implement more applications for cryptocurrency payments in e-shops.
