Stores offering religious assortments are seeing steady sales increases, and new types of products, such as games and accessories with religious themes, are gaining popularity. We checked which direction the devotional market is heading.

The devotional market - seemingly very conservative and traditionalist, in fact reacts flexibly to buyers' expectations. In every market category, we observe the regular appearance of new product groups - as is the case here. In some industries it happens once a year, in others - every few months. Already today 48 percent of Polish Internet users buy online and pay attention to non-standard goods.

The most popular product category in religious articles e-shops is all kinds of gadgets: rulers with religious slogans, gel bracelets, bookmarks, stickers, mugs, lanyards, games for children and adults, and even computer mouse pads. Typical devotional items such as rosaries, religious jewelry, prayer paraphernalia, books, Scripture, and "serious" church items - Mass items or candles - rank further down in terms of the number of transactions.

As of June-July 2016, the value of sales at religious assortment stores operating on the Shoper platform amounted to more than 167,000, compared to 134,000 a year ago.

The industry records the highest sales results in spring, which is related to the first communion celebrations held during this period. In April 2016, online devotional stores operating on the platform Shoper, recorded total revenues of more than PLN 285,000 - 70 percent more than at the same time a year earlier. The industry also records an increase in turnover at the end of the year, before Christmas.
