The Company offers entrepreneurs a comprehensive ecosystem for operating in the e-commerce market. Its basis is a platform for creating and running online stores, around which the Company offers further services that allow entrepreneurs to increase the volume and efficiency of sales. Among the additional services are Shoper Campaigns (i.e., running advertising campaigns oriented towards getting orders to the store), Shoper Payments (which involves handling payments in the e-store) and Shoper Shipping (i.e., supporting sellers in the area of product logistics). In addition, the Shoper ecosystem is open to third-party developers who can make their applications available as add-ons to Shoper.
- Today, Shoper is already more than 20 thousand online stores and a leading position in SaaS platforms for e-commerce in the prospective Polish market. Our success is the result of a comprehensive approach to customers and supporting their sales. The effects of these activities can be seen both in the dynamically growing results of the Company and in the rapidly increasing turnover of customers on the platform (GMV). Our growth is not only about gaining new users, but also about supporting them in their development and growing with them," comments Marcin KuĆmierz, President of Shoper S.A.
The history of Shoper dates back as far as 2005 and the early days of the e-commerce market in Poland. This year, a decision was made to unify the Company's name with the platform, changing it from the former Dreamcommerce to Shoper S.A. At the end of 2020. The Company had more than 20,000 users using the platform as part of its core offering and additional services in the areas of marketing, logistics, payments or providing terms and conditions for online stores, among others. The Company currently employs nearly 150 people and operates in the Polish market.
- We have a track record of dynamic growth and even more ambitious plans for the future. We are focusing on business development, but we are also considering various market scenarios, including a stock market debut. That's why we have submitted a prospectus to the Financial Supervision Commission," says Marcin KuĆmierz.
An important factor in the Company's growth is the high scalability of its business model, resulting in a significant improvement in margins as the number of users of the Shoper platform and the turnover they generate increases. Although users of the Shoper platform do not pay commissions on sales, many ancillary services are billed under a pay-as-you-grow model, which is correlated with the volume of turnover generated (GMV) by their stores. In 2020. GMV generated by stores on the Shoper platform amounted to 4.0 billion zlotys. This is more than 3 times more than in 2018.
The e-commerce market in Poland is developing rapidly, the average annual growth for the last 4 years exceeds 20% and is higher than the average recorded in the European Union. Successful companies operating in this market can be found both in Poland and abroad, as evidenced by recent market debuts. High growth rates for the e-commerce market, according to available estimates, will continue in the coming years.
- The e-commerce industry has been on a rapid growth spurt for several years, which has further accelerated in 2020. The growth should continue in the following years, and looking at Western European countries, there is still plenty of room in the market for new businesses expanding or creating their online sales offerings. We have ambitions to further strengthen our status as a first-choice platform and position as a leading partner for these businesses," adds Marcin KuĆmierz.
In 2020, Shoper launched a modern administration panel for its clients, along with a mobile version. It expanded its partnership with InPost and introduced another convenience for online shoppers of Shoper platform users in the form of deferred payments. Dozens of improvements were also implemented and more than 35 new applications were created to expand the store's capabilities.
- At Shoper , we are committed to going far beyond the role of a standard store management solution provider. Therefore, in addition to developing an offer to support the sales of Shoper platform users, we pay great attention to their service. In 2020 alone, we responded to more than 147,000 email requests, our consultants spoke to customers more than 180,000 times and we conducted 124 educational webinars for them," Marcin KuĆmierz emphasizes.
