Shoper, a leader in e-commerce solutions in Poland, has published its estimated financial results for 2024. The company recorded dynamic growth in all key business areas, achieving record results. A key success factor proved to be the omnichannel strategy, which significantly increased the value of transactions and improved the company's profitability.
The value of transactions in Shoper's online stores, including the marketplace (GMV Omnichannel), reached PLN 14.5 billion, up 53 percent year-on-year in 2023. The company's revenue amounted to PLN 192.8 million, recording a 26 percent year-on-year increase. Adjusted EBITDA reached PLN 66.1 million, and profitability rose to 34.3 percent, surpassing the previous year's results.
One of the most dynamic areas of growth was the Apilo platform, which specializes in managing multichannel sales. The value of transactions processed through Apilo increased sixfold by 2023, an unprecedented result in the e-commerce industry.
- Preliminary results for 2024 confirm our ability to build value for customers. GMV Omnichannel is growing at an impressive rate, while we are consistently improving profitability. This combination of dynamic growth and cost efficiency allows us to scale our business without losing profitability," comments Piotr Biczysko, CFO of Shoper.
Shoper closed the fourth quarter of 2024 with record results. In the key period for e-commerce, GMV Omnichannel reached PLN 4.3 billion, up 45 percent year-on-year. The value of transactions carried out exclusively in Shoper stores (GMV Stores) amounted to PLN 3.0 billion, recording a 15 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Revenues in Q4 2024 amounted to PLN 55.1 million (+26 percent year-on-year), and adjusted EBITDA reached PLN 19.9 million, which translated into a profitability of 36.1 percent. Shoper has once again proven that it can combine dynamic growth in business scale with improvements in operational efficiency.
In 2024, Shoper continued to expand its ecosystem of services, strengthening its position in the market. In the payment segment, the company expanded its offerings by integrating with Przelewy24, InPost Pay and Stripe, in the logistics area - with InPost, as well as introducing an overseas delivery service.
- We are consistently pursuing our strategy of building a comprehensive ecosystem of services for e-commerce. Integration with InPost Pay and Stripe, as well as the development of multi-channel sales management tools are key steps in this direction. In particular, we are intensively developing financial and logistics services that allow our customers to scale their business even more effectively," emphasizes Paweł Rybak, CCO of Shoper.
The year 2024 also brought significant ownership changes. cyber_Folks received approval from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection to acquire control of Shoper. The deal, worth more than PLN 540 million, includes the purchase of 49.9 percent of the company's shares.
- The entry of cyber_Folks into the Shoper shareholding is an opportunity to further strengthen our leadership position in the CEE region. The cooperation of both teams and the use of synergies will allow us to even more effectively support entrepreneurs in their digital transformation ," says Marcin Kuśmierz, CEO of Shoper.
Despite challenges in the traditional trade market, the company expects continued growth in e-commerce. According to forecasts, the overall e-commerce market grew by about 12 percent in 2024, and the outlook for 2025 is even more optimistic.
Shoper is planning further expansion, developing payment and logistics services and stepping up multi-channel sales activities.
