Online shopping platform Shoper has introduced a new recommendation system for its customers, based on machine learning technology. Thanks to it, while shopping, shoppers are shown additional products specially tailored for them.



Recommendation systems today are the cornerstones of the most popular VOD apps and services. Their users, while browsing the content of services, watching movies or listening to music, receive notifications that allow them to discover content similar to what they have already watched and that hits their taste. Global sales platforms are also using similar technology.



- By analyzing customers' visits to online stores, the site, which uses a so-called recommendation system, displays suggestions and sets of products that can further interest them and increase the value of the shopping cart. The recommendations are the result of the work of advanced algorithms and their ability to learn, and the analysis takes place in real time - the system analyzes what on the current shopping path interests the customer and, based on this information, proposes the best-fitting products," says Adrian Slowik, Software Architect and IT Manager at Shoper.



Such a solution can already be used by more than 15,000 online stores running on the Shoper software. The system works in stores as part of the Shoper Recommendations service, available for all subscription plans. This is another innovation that Shoper has introduced to its platform for streamlining and upgrading sales.

This is an important element that affects the high quality of the suggestions and thus increases the chance of conversion." - says Jacek Zientkiewicz, Business Development Director at Shoper. As market analyses show, most consumers are most likely to shop at those stores that present them with relevant offers and product recommendations. On the Internet, where some shoppers may lack face-to-face contact with a salesperson, these kinds of new technologies can improve everyday shopping and make the customer feel perfectly served.
