On August 7, 2024, Shoper published preliminary financial results for the second quarter of 2024. The company achieved record increases in each of the indicators. GMV of omnichannel(the total value of transactions generated by stores operating on the platform Shoper, including additional channels, i.e. marketplace or price comparison sites) amounted to PLN 3.5 billion, an increase of 61% over the same period last year.
The GMV of stores (i.e., the total value of sales generated by online stores operating on the platform Shoper) also recorded an impressive result, amounting to PLN 2.6 billion, indicating a 35% increase over the second quarter of the previous year.
- Sales increases of online stores operating on the Shoper platform are several times higher than the competition. This shows that the innovations introduced really affect the sales efficiency of both store owners and the growth of the Company's revenues. - comments Piotr Biczysko, CFO of Shoper. - We are also pleased with the high profitability, expressed in adjusted EBITDA.
The company boasted high profitability, with adjusted EBITDA reaching PLN 15.8 million, a 32% increase over the same period last year.
Shoper bets on platform development and AI
In May of this year Shoper announced the opening of a new competence center in Poznań, which will bring together artificial intelligence specialists. In June, the company announced an update to its Shoper engine called Storefront. The new engine complies with the latest global standards in e-commerce design, and the technology itself ensures speed and efficiency.
- The number of store owners on our platform using Storefront updates has exceeded 500 stores and continues to grow. The technology is revolutionary as far as the Polish market is concerned. The system was developed in cooperation with sellers and we can already see that this model of innovation is optimal. Shoper's plans for international sales
In June Shoper announced a partnership with XBS Group, which will enable the Company's customers to outsource logistics. This is the first such service in the portfolio of Shoper. In addition, the company boasted that it is working on the introduction of the Shoper Broker service, incorporating new logistics operators.
This is another step towards the development of cross-border offerings. Shoper announced new partnerships with leading international companies responsible for logistics and payments. We also read about plans to implement foreign currency processing within Shoper Payments.
